Exploring Birdsong bring a new kind of vibe to London on September 24th..
Islington Assembly Hall – 24th September
Exploring Birdsong are a guitar-less trio focusing instead on a piano-driven core blended with heavy bass grooves, synthesizers, and neoclassical elements.
The band, made up of Lynsey Ward (vocals/piano), Matt Harrison (drums/percussion), and Jonny (bass/keyboards), first launched in 2017 with their debut single, The Baptism, and support slots across the UK.
With their debut EP, The Thing With Feathers (Long Branch Records, 2019), the guitarless trio caught the attention of key players in the UK press such as Kerrang! and Classic Rock, and have been nominated for two PROG awards.
‘detailed, diverse and devilishly catchy’, are a piano led prog-pop trio.'
Lynsey was also placed number 3 in the Prog readers poll for best female vocalist, and with the release of their acclaimed second EP, Dancing in the Face of Danger, followed by several singles, the band are cementing their place within the music industry.
From early demoing in 2022 the trio have been working tirelessly to meticulously craft the vivid world in which all twelve tracks live, and that listeners can expect to be immersed in once they hit ‘play’. Sophisticated and matured, Exploring Birdsong deliver on their distinctive sound established in 2019, whilst pulling back the curtain on some of the more obscure influences that have inspired the band to make the music they will be introducing us to this year
