Nina Freckles
More info
Nina Freckles writes songs like little letters to her younger self — honest, thoughtful and always with a touch of humor. Her lyrics tell intimate stories of coming-of-age, self reflection and deep empathy. The German-Brazilian songwriter effortlessly blends folk, soul and pop into a genre-defying sound. Inspired by artists such as Joni Mitchell or Sara Bareilles, she pairs delicate harmonies with driving rhythms and a voice that feels both vulnerable and strong. Where others might drift into pathos, Nina stays grounded and genuine — as if she were inviting the audience straight to her kitchen table. After releasing her self-produced debut EP “How Many People Can I Be?“ (May 2025), the independent artist celebrated with a sold-out release concert in Hanover, her city of residence and earned placements on German radio stations including SR 2 KulturRadio, Radio Fritz (rbb), Radio Hannover, Leibniz FM, and TIDE Radio. In September 2025, she and her band successfully completed their first club tour across nothern Germany. Recently she released a live video series called “Building a Home Sessions”, embedding her songs in a uniquely cinematic and intimate setting. A “Nina Freckles”-concert isn't just a show - she creates an eclectic evening that feels like a shared conversation. Between songs, she tells stories, laughs with the audience, and constantly reinvents her live setup: sometimes solo, sometimes as a duo, with a full band, or even an entire choir. The result is concerts that always sound a little different but remain intimate, playful, and energetic, showcasing the versatility and emotional depth of her music. This year, Nina strives to spread her wings internationally. Starting out by taking part in a songwriting retreat at Zonkey Studios in Vienna and playing in the UK alongside British songwriter Kirsty McGee.

An intimate evening with Richard Shindell
More info
***NB: This show is mixed seating and standing. Seating is limited and available on a first come first served basis.*** Richard Shindell lives as both an immigrant and emigrant, crossing thresholds, that informs his illumination of the human experience through narrative song. Shindell has inhabited a Zen Buddhist monastery, busked in the streets of Paris, opened for Joan Baez (who covered several of his songs), and collaborated with Grammy-winner Larry Campbell (Bob Dylan, Levon Helm, Elvis Costello). Originally from New York, now living in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Shindell is a writer whose songs paint pictures, tell stories, juxtapose ideas and images, inhabit characters, vividly evoking entire worlds along the way and expanding our sense of just what it is a song may be. Meticulously recorded over three years in New York and Buenos Aires, his most recent release, Careless, offered an ambitious, luxurious, full-length statement. Shindell immersed himself in the studio, allowing the time and latitude to explore, experiment, take risks—to play—as each of these eleven songs was given form and substance. While his signature acoustic guitar style is used to good effect, Careless also found Shindell plugging in more. “The wider sonic and dynamic range of the electric has been a real inspiration. Rejuvenating.” During the pandemic, Shindell stayed in Argentina, out on the wide open Pampa, reading, writing, taking walks, doing a little experimental recording, and tending the garden. He now returns to the road for a limited number of performances. Innovative, original and occasionally spiritual, Shindell’s songs weave tales that interchangeably champion the downtrodden, exalt the disaffected or wax empathetic to those lost to society's fringes. From lighthearted ballads and adulterous love songs, to dirges and diatribes that skillfully skewer politics, prejudice, war and religion, to the comic point-of-view of a cow stuck in a barbed wire fence, he has a unique ability to morph into the soul of the many and varied personalities he casts as narrators in certain songs—veritable novellas framed in haunting acoustic melodies. "Occasionally an artist has a night that makes even sceptics think, “O.K., maybe he is the best.” Richard Shindell achieved this." — Ann Powers, NY Times

Jaimee Harris
More info
Jaimee Harris’s sophomore effort Boomerang Town marks a bold step forward for this country-folk-leaning singer-songwriter. It is an arresting, ambitious song-cycle that explores the generational arc of family, the stranglehold of addiction, and the fragile ties that bind us together as Americans. Harris began cultivating Boomerang Town in 2016, a time of great loss for many in the Americana community, with the songwriter losing several musicians close to her. A shift in the nation’s political landscape had ushered in a new level of cultural polarization and for someone who grew up in a small town outside of Waco, Texas, Harris believed the values instilled by her parents were not entirely in line with how many were viewing, and vilifying, Christians. As a person in recovery, Harris has had to re-evaluate her own connection to faith and find strength in a higher power. It was from the intersection of these social, personal, and political currents that the album was born. While themes of addiction and grief permeate sections of the record, it echoes hope in the face of the darkness. Out February 17th, Boomerang Town understands that love and grief are two sides of the same coin.
