Jay Davis's BadTrad

Jay Davis's BadTrad is formed from an inquisitiveness about people. Compositions include pieces using melodies overheard being hummed by strangers in the street, a robotic construction from a laptop and a three-year-olds' piano improvisation. Showcasing some of the most exciting improvisers from the UK scene, the band draw on a broad range of musical influences from European choral music to free jazz. "Beautiful collective improvisation from this brilliant band” - Jamie Cullum, BBC Radio 2 “Rebellious attitude”, “…writing reminiscent of Sonny Rollins, Charles Mingus, Ornette Coleman, or Don Cherry, remains nonetheless very personal.” – Jazz Magazine, France
